Personal and Beautiful Window Designs and Decoration Options
From leading and colouring options, to obscured and patterned glass – The Window Centre has plenty of options so that you can create your perfect windows
For over 20 years The Window Centre has been installing windows in Harrow and the local area; during this time we have always aimed to provide the greatest choice and personalisation via the decorative options for your glazing. After all your windows are important characteristics of your home, and no two homes are alike!
Lead lights have long been traditional aspects of glazing in homes. Originating thousands of years ago in Roman and Byzantine windows, lead lights have maintained their place in modern home improvements - providing beautiful geometrical shapes in the window, without obscuring any light or view.
The most common lead lights we install are either of the Diamond
variety. The sizes and colours of these can be made bespoke to suit all properties or existing windows.
We also create like-for-like leaded lights; these are often to replicate characteristic leaded designs of traditional properties. Thus maintaining the personality and look, whilst greatly improving the energy efficiency, insulation and security of the window.
Another popular choice with window decoration is the use of Georgian Bars to break up the sight-lines of the glazing. The bars divide the windows up, to produce the elegance of Georgian windows and yet, when chosen with The Window Centre, provide A-rated energy efficiency and improved security.
The bars float between the panes of glazing within the window and can come in various widths and heights.
Obscure & Patterned Glass
The decoration upon the glazing itself is often an important choice to make when choosing your windows. Various patterns and degrees of obscurity suit different windows, different rooms, and different properties.
Generally speaking, patterned windows are used to add a level of visual obscurity to a room, whilst still allowing lots of light in. Our customers most commonly use them for porch windows
- where they add a touch of personality and lots of light, or in their bathrooms
- where light and privacy are important.
